A Counties church plant is moving forward as God’s family

JORDAN AND LACY ARMSTRONG

Jordan is the leader of the Counties church plant, Orchard Church, Wollaston, Stourbridge, which opened in 2021. The regular church congregation at a Sunday gathering is around 40-50 percent non-Christian, an incredible figure for a church that only opened four years ago.

JORDAN’S STORY

We’ve had a really encouraging start to 2025. In December, a member of our leadership team moved on and returned home to the USA. This left a hole in the church family, the leadership, and the roles and responsibilities. In January, after weeks of prayer and consideration, we had our first “Service Sunday.” After the worship service, the church family all had dinner together, and we discussed all our needs to make our gathering times possible.

Everyone put their name down for something! The true sense of ownership and family has been a blessing and an encouragement to Lacy and me, and we’re thankful to God for the way He is building this church. It goes to show that as we seek the Lord together and grow together, He will stir our hearts for one another. It’s wonderful to see the church bearing the load together, which has not only filled gaps but also seen the church family go over and above, releasing me from many responsibilities to focus on our worship, teaching, and community.
