Simon Bennett

Having grown up on a dairy farm in Dorset and enjoying Maths at school, it’s no surprise Simon is a Chartered Accountant specialising in working with the agricultural industry. Married to Julia with two sons James and Samuel, they attend Challenge Community Church in Hereford. Simon’s role at Counties is to monitor finances and assist the office team with the accounts.

Richard Canham (chair)

Richard took early retirement from business in November 2014 in order to spend more time on charitable activities including those with Counties. He currently lives in Enfield, North London, where he served as one of the church leaders for over 30 years. Richard has been a trustee of Counties since 1998. Currently chair of the trustees, Richard has previously served as deputy chairman, trustee link for CLGs and chair of GSUS Live. Richard is also a trustee of CPI, Trustee and Hon Treasurer for The Evangelization Society (TES) and Church Growth Trust (CGT)

James Davies

James grew up in Swansea, were he attended Dunvant Gospel Hall (now Dunvant Christian Fellowship), and was baptised at fourteen. After University (Engineering) he joined the local Rover Group company in Llanelli and remained there for 32 years, including travelling all over the world. In the final years James lived mostly in Japan.  James and his wife Carolyn are involved in activities in Moorland Road Gospel Hall, including children's/youth work and work with a team to lead the Summer camps on the Gower.

Stephen McQuoid

Stephen heads up GLO Europe, a Christian charity with a vision to establish church planting teams throughout Europe and to support them through short term mission trips. He is an Elder of Liberty Community Church in Motherwell, Scotland, and became a trustee of Counties in 2013 with a passion for evangelism. He is married to Debbie and they have three children.

Phil Sparkes

Phil worked for BT for almost 43 years before retiring in June 2013 at the age of 60. He has been happily married to Jan since 1974, and they have 2 sons (married to lovely Christian wives), and 5 grandchildren. Phil is chairman of Suffolk Christian Camps which are held in the grounds of Sizewell Hall, and is an elder at West Road Church, where he & Jan regularly run marriage courses. He enjoys walking (which he has been doing since the age of 13 months!), playing tennis, and circuit training. He became a trustee in 2014. 

Chris Taylor

For 30 years Chris worked in the statutory and voluntary sectors within children's services, before becoming self employed in 2003, she provides a range of services which includes training and mentoring managers. She attends Penry Gospel Hall (Pontypool) and is married to Stuart and both are actively involved in the work of the Assembly.

Aderyn Taylor-Roberts

Aderyn’s background in Arts Curation, Education, Business Marketing and Management has enabled her to engage with many people, projects, cultures and communities. Being a creative person, she is able to form connections conceptually and visualise output, problem solve, strategize and lead with vision. Aderyn lives in the Forest of Dean with her husband Scott and family, where they are active members of Forest Community Church through leadership roles and evangelistic ministry groups.

John Wilkes

John became a Trustee in January 2017 having previously been the Counties CEO between January 2005 and June 2016 and a Counties evangelist between 1983 to 1999. John is married to Brenda and they have three grown up children.
