Colin & Linda Johnson - Dunstable

Colin is involved with community outreach including: the Leighton Buzzard Tuesday market stall, door to door visiting, Costa Coffee monthly music event (Hope Cafe), coffee mornings, a puppet team (www.hopepuppets.org.uk), Get Active (fitness group- table tennis etc), and a monthly ten pin bowling group. He is also training as a counsellor and does volunteer counselling with Eclipse Counselling Service

Family

I am married to Linda and live in Leighton Buzzard, we have 3 children- all now grown up. I belong to Counties, a Christian charity which networks evangelists across the country. I work very closely with Hockcliffe Street Baptist Church, Leighton Buzzard and Langdale Church, Dunstable as a community worker.

Background

I worked for many years in sales and marketing with telecoms and software companies in London and Home Counties. Prior to that I trained at London School of Theology and was briefly an ordained Baptist Minister.

I was not brought up as a child to go to church but became a believer in Christ when I was in my mid 20s. I began to wonder if there was more to life than just material things and making money and was amazed when I realised who Jesus was and what he stood for; knowing Christ has revolutionised my life in so many ways.
