1.How did you first hear about Counties?
I heard about it from a Counties evangelist who was running a barbecue mission I was involved in.
2.Why did you apply to Counties?
I felt the need for accountability and support and perhaps to be part of something bigger.
3.What were you doing previously?
I was a full time evangelist n London but working on my own.
4.Describe some of your most helpful placements.
My most useful placement was in Cardiff working with Clive Cornish. Going out carrying a cross around the streets of Cardiff was an eye opener as well as getting to know some of Clive's heart and vision. Being with Steve Crosthwaite enabled me to see what community outreach involved in his area and how many doors were open to him.
5.How has your relationship with your Mentor worked out in practice?
It has been both a formal and informal in nature. We have spent some time thinking of practical ways of helping my development as an evangelist but we have spent some time also getting to know each other.
6.Why do you think Trainees need to be teachable and what have been the hardest lessons for you?
Trainees need to be teachable as Jesus was and it indicates humility. I think the hardest lesson is that people approach evangelism very differently and to work in an unfamiliar framework can be hard at times.
7.Describe one of the Training Days you attended?
On one of the training days we looked at some popular tracts and compared their display and message. We also studied some chapters from a book on evangelism that brought a diversity of themes to the surface.
8.How have you worked with local churches?
I have preached at some churches and I have involved Christians from different churches in street evangelism
9.What is your Personal Mission Statement?
No formal one. Perhaps, ad-libing "To be as Christ and to speak about Christ in a world without Christ"
10.What are the benefits of having an effective Counties Link Group?
The benefits are to facilitate more church contact with my ministry and Counties and to be able to get some constructive criticism from people with different backgrounds from one another and with different levels of awareness of the vision of Counties and of my burden.
