Values & Statement of Faith

Counties exists to make Jesus known across the UK through our evangelists, exhibitions and resources, in Biblically faithful and culturally relevant ways.

Our core values:
  1. Aiming for excellence – we are committed to excellence, integrity and creativity. “Serve whole-heartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.” Ephesians, 6.7
  2. Biblical unity – we support evangelists working throughout their region, partnering with churches of all evangelical backgrounds. “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John 17.20-21
  3. Commitment to the Bible – we are passionate about remaining faithful to the truth of the Bible and living lives consistent with its message. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3.16
  4. Dependency on God – we depend on God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, through faith and prayer. “and without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11.6 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15.5
  5. Equipping the church – we serve the local church, seeking to equip and support them in education, evangelism and discipleship. “and God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church.” Ephesians 1.22 Where we support communities who provide volunteers to local schools or other organisations, we always encourage long-term bridge building relationships.
  6. Focused on evangelism and discipleship – we are focused on holistic evangelism and discipleship – meeting people wherever they are along their journey of faith. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28. 19-20.
We Believe In...
  1. One God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - eternally existing in three distinct but equal persons.
  2. The sovereignty and grace of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, in creation, providence, revelation, redemption, sanctification and final judgement.
  3. The divine inspiration of the Bible, and its consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
  4. The universal sinfulness and guilt of fallen humankind, which is therefore subject to the just condemnation of God.
  5. The substitutionary death of the incarnate Son of God as the only ground of redemption from the guilt and power of sin and it's eternal consequences, which is obtained by faith alone.
  6. The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of God the Holy Spirit.
  7. The priesthood of all believers, who form the universal church, which is the body of which Christ is the head, and which is committed by his command to proclaim the gospel throughout the whole world.
  8. The baptism of believers, and the regular observance of the Lord's Supper, in obedience to the Lord's command.
  9. Local churches, composed of professed believers, and led by those with appropriate spiritual gifts; the widespread distribution and exercise of spiritual gifts, regular meetings for worship, prayer, teaching, and fellowship; outreach to the locality; and involvement in world mission.
  10. The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory.
