Simon Bennett

Chris Taylor

Having grown up on a dairy farm in Dorset and enjoying Maths at school, it’s no surprise Simon is a Chartered Accountant specialising in working with the agricultural industry. Married to Julia with two sons James and Samuel, they attend Challenge Community Church in Hereford. Simon’s role at Counties is to monitor finances and assist the office team with the accounts.

Robert Barnett

For the past 30 years Robert has worked in his own business supplying workwear to all kinds of clients including small retailers, large manufacturers and the motor trade. He attends Offmore Church in Kidderminster, where he has been an Elder for the past 30 years. Robert is married to Pauline with two sons and one daughter and two grandchildren. 

Roger Brind

Rogerbrind

Roger Brind was a headteacher in Cardiff for 24 years before he took early retirement to devote himself to full-time Christian Service in the summer of 2004. His particular burden is Bible teaching and training for service, both in the United Kingdom and in a number of Central and Eastern European countries. He was awarded the OBE for services to education in 1999. He has been a Trustee of Counties since 2005 and has chaired both the Life and GSUS Live sub committees. He lives in Danescourt, Cardiff and has three children and six grandchildren.

Richard Canham (chair)

Richard took early retirement from business in November 2014 in order to spend more time on charitable activities including those with Counties. He currently lives in Enfield, North London, where he served as one of the church leaders for over 30 years. Richard has been a trustee of Counties since 1998. Currently chair of the trustees, Richard has previously served as deputy chairman, trustee link for CLGs and chair of GSUS Live. Richard is also a trustee of CPI, Trustee and Hon Treasurer for The Evangelization Society (TES) and Church Growth Trust (CGT).

James Hyde

James Hyde is a development consultant at the Church Planting Initiative. He spent seven years as a solicitor before becoming self-employed in environmental litigation for a further seven years.  Since 1998 he has been an elder of a non-denominational church in North Devon. He and his wife Debbie with their two sons spent five months in 2010 at Youth With A Mission on a Discipleship Training School first in Kona, Hawaii and then India.  He believes his current call is to train the body of Christ to reach the nations by making disciples who plant church

Stephen McQuoid

Stephen heads up GLO Europe, a Christian charity with a vision to establish church planting teams throughout Europe and to support them through short term mission trips. He is an Elder of Liberty Community Church in Motherwell, Scotland, and became a trustee of Counties in 2013 with a passion for evangelism. He is married to Debbie and they have three children.

Phil Sparkes

Phil worked for BT for almost 43 years before retiring in June 2013 at the age of 60. He has been happily married to Jan since 1974, and they have 2 sons (married to lovely Christian wives), and 5 grandchildren. Phil is chairman of Suffolk Christian Camps which are held in the grounds of Sizewell Hall, and is an elder at West Road Church, where he & Jan regularly run marriage courses. He enjoys walking (which he has been doing since the age of 13 months!), playing tennis, and circuit training. He became a trustee in 2014.

For 30 years Chris worked in the statutory and voluntary sectors within children's services, before becoming self employed in 2003, she provides a range of services which includes training and mentoring managers. She attends Penry Gospel Hall (Pontypool) and is married to Stuart and both are actively involved in the work of the Assembly.

Judith Webber

Judith became a Counties trustee in 2013. She lives in East Devon, where she works for an Oil and Gas services company in IT Communications. She attends the URC in Ottery St Mary. She aims to assist Counties in IT and HR issues.

John Wilkes

John became a Trustee in January 2017 having previously been the Counties CEO between January 2005 and June 2016 and a Counties evangelist between 1983 to 1999. John is married to Brenda and they have three grown up children.
